Wild parrots started flying in and landing on the trees along mission bay in san diego on a cool, cloudy day. I walk around and catch some individuals and groups. Sometimes they fly overhead. I did my best to minimize footstep sounds and wind noise. Mostly, i did a good job of that. No. 2 at about 2:35 there's a nice group after a long silence, so don't quit beforehand. The stereo mics add to the liveliness of the sounds.

At closest to target it was recorded from about 33ft away from mower at farthest range about 40ft away. If you wanted the mower to be heard from an inside area you could add a high pass filter to the recording. Please note this wasn't taken with the average household mower it was taken with a heavy duty lawn mower used for cutting large areas of grass so it doesn’t have the same sound as a regular mower.

I live next to a car repair place and they have a couple of hot rods that they fire up now and then. This is a '55 chevy and to me the idle sounds like a dragon breathing. He does a couple of slight burnouts and you can hear the echo off the buildings. Recorded with my yamaha pocketrak and edited with sony vegas with one track duplication. However, it didn't have a bell or a platen, so the key is hitting the platen of another typewriter from the 1970s. Audio cleaned up in audacity.
